California has introduced a new digital resource designed to help Los Angeles homeowners rebuild after the destructive 2025 firestorms, with a strong focus on prefab and modular housing solutions.
Governor Gavin Newsom, together with the LA Rises recovery initiative, announced the launch of a centralized website aimed at simplifying the rebuilding process for fire-affected residents. The platform connects homeowners with trusted prefabricated, modular, and on-site home builders, along with verified vendors, mortgage assistance programs, and local government resources.
Accessible at larises.org/resources , the site presents multiple rebuilding pathways, including modular homes, predesigned plans, and fully custom construction options. The goal is to help residents make informed decisions while reducing delays and uncertainty.
The website’s debut comes nearly a year after the fires, as many survivors continue to encounter financial, regulatory, and logistical challenges. State officials noted that rebuilding permits in affected areas are now being approved faster than pre-fire averages for single-family homes, often in under three months.
This acceleration is largely due to executive orders that temporarily suspended certain environmental review requirements and delayed some building code updates, allowing local authorities to process applications more efficiently.
The platform also promotes an AI-powered permitting tool developed by Archistar, which is being offered free of charge through partnerships between the state and philanthropic organizations. Early data shows the tool has reduced permit review times by approximately 36% to 54% for select applications in Los Angeles County.
LA Rises continues to coordinate private-sector support with city, county, and state agencies, aiming to streamline recovery efforts and help communities rebuild faster, safer, and more resilient homes.
