This modular prefab home supports an indoor/outdoor lifestyle that extends the utility of the house beyond its interior space. The home combines modern, clean design with Cradle-to-Cradle CM inspired materials and LEED® Platinum environmental program. There are three different versions of this model that range from 2 bedrooms and 1 bath at 950 square feet to 3 bedrooms and 2 baths at 1232 square feet. Wood ceiling, cork floors, optional wood siding and natural wood millwork make the prefabricated courtyard home comfy and warm. Clerestory windows, floor-to-ceiling glass, transom windows and solar tubes bring light into almost all parts of the house, including the closets. Appropriate shading, ceiling fans and super insulation reduce cooling/heating needs and smart AC/heating reduces power bills. The Nest Learning Thermostat selflearns how inhabitants live and keeps the home at the prefered temperature. The living, dining, and kitchen space are all connected, it makes easy for all in the family to do their own thing – or share.

About Living Homes

Our mission is to create homes and communities that inspire people, foster family and community interaction, and make modern life easier, healthier and more comfortable - all in ways that complement and enhance the municipalities and environments in which we work.
We design homes created by world-class architects, which feature warm, modern design, functional amenities, and great price value. Our homes include natural, non-toxic and sustainably-derived materials.

The result of all this: healthier, happier homes that have a dramatically smaller ecological footprint than most new homes. The first Livinghome, designed by Ray Kappe, FAIA was installed in eight hours and was the first home ever certified LEED® Platinum by the United States Green Building Council. Since then, we have built more LEED Platinum homes than almost any other design firm. We're proud of this.

Finding builders that met our standards for sustainability, quality, and cost was always a challenge, so in 2016 we founded a solution: Plant Prefab, the nation's first prefabricated design and manufacturing company dedicated to sustainable construction, materials, processes, and operations. LivingHomes is now the in-house design studio of Plant Prefab, enabling us to create homes of unsurpassed quality in half the time of traditional construction, with lower construction costs and less waste.

LivingHomes are available in standard or customized configurations to builders, developers and individuals.

In 2019 we built upon our commitment to sustainability by pledging to becoming fully carbon neutral. The "Plant Promise" is an ambitious goal to achieve net zero emissions across all company processes and operations.

About Plant Prefab

Our mission is to make it easy to build custom homes that are healthy, sustainable, and durable.
We manufacture custom single and multifamily homes that are high-quality, sustainable, healthy, and durable. We empower individuals, architects, and small developers who want to build their own projects — and who want an efficient and reliable solution. And peace of mind during the process. We work with your architects on your custom designs or you can work with our Design Partners or select Standard Homes they have created for us.

We are the nation's first prefabricated design and manufacturing company dedicated to sustainable construction, materials, processes, and operations. We believe that homes can — and should — be built in ways that minimize their negative impact on energy, water, and resources, as well as the health of the people who live in them and build them. We know that factory construction can be faster, more cost-effective, and more reliable than on-site construction. And we know it saves neighborhoods from months of noise pollution, traffic and disruption.

Plant was spun out of LivingHomes, a sustainable design development company responsible for dozens of award-winning prefabricated homes, including the nation's first LEED Platinum-certified home. LivingHomes is now Plant's in-house design studio, enabling us to create homes of unsurpassed quality in half the time of traditional construction, with lower construction costs and less waste.

Leveraging LivingHomes's experience utilizing ten different factories before Plant was founded, we've learned a lot about what works and what doesn't. Plant Prefab reflects many of these lessons and best practices. Major funding for Plant was provided by Amazon and Obvious Ventures, a venture fund that focuses on #worldpositive investments. Our first factory is a 62,000-sf facility in Rialto, California.

In 2019 we built upon our commitment to sustainability by pledging to becoming fully carbon neutral. The "Plant Promise" is an ambitious goal to achieve net zero emissions across all company processes and operations.
